Debris filters will not only make your aquarium water clearer, but they will also provide effective noise reduction from your exhaust, whether it is a rigid or corrugated exhaust. These filtration systems are an elegant and compact solution to two of the most common challenges in the marine aquarium world: removing debris and quieting the exhaust. While the noise reduction may not be total, it will make a big difference, especially for those noisier exhaust pipes.
Operation as an anti-debris: Water from the tank will enter the filter, where it will be partially filtered through the perlon wool disk on the bottom and partially exit through overflow from the top. The filter will continue to work efficiently, gradually filtering all the water over time. The perlon wool will need to be replaced when necessary; initially, the change will be more frequent due to the abundant presence of debris in the tank, but over time this need will decrease.
Silencer function: Thanks to the particular geometry of the filter, the air will rise upwards through the grids, avoiding the formation of gurgling noises. Furthermore, by keeping the filter level at the overflow height, the water will come out silently, without causing splashes or annoying noises.
